No more PricePoint?
I just tried to go to www.pricepoint.com, but it came up with some Network Solutions page. What happened to PricePoint's site?

The site is not being hosted by Network Solutions, just went to www.oingo.com and noticed that they did not offer any hosting services. The site is being Domain Parked, meaning that the site is empty and the owner (or host) has put up an advertising page.

The .org URL gives you Pricepoint's homepage, but click on any other link from there, and you get the Network Solutions page - so they're gone, in the process of moving sites, have the servers all down, or someone's hijacked their links.

A parked domain would seem to indicate to me that the site no longer exists and is simply contracting Netsol to just hang on to the domain name for the time being. Notice that the NS records point to WorldNIC (a Verisign entity).

I just tried the site as well and got the network solutions page also. Perhaps they are having problems or have not renewed the domain. I was browsing their site yesterday morning and it worked fine. I heard a sound bite on the radio the other day that said its been quite common lately for companies to forget to update their domain name and their sites were going down. Give it a day or so and see if the pop back online.

Yep, I think some are confusing pricepoint with the travel web site. Pricepoint is (or at least was) one of the better online bike/bike part retailers. Strange name for a bike part outfit.
By the way, it's back up now but the .com switches to .net.

Seems to me like Pricepoint got fed up with NetSol and decided to go shopping for another registrar but since it was taking so long to transfer their domain, they simply started using a .net TLD instead. Kinda ugly from a network engineer's standpoint but what are ya gonna do?

I'll go call them to place my order.EDIT: my brother was on the phone with his g/f, so he might take a while. I just ordered from PerfromanceBike. I'm sure Pricepoint will love me now.
