What is an "ecoterrorist"? These days, all criminals are called terrorist. The word "terrorist" is the new media electrogenerator. What ever happened to just calling idiots like this "@ss-holes"?
Anyway, we had the same thing happen here when a new rails-to-trails path went through a wealthy and exclusive neighborhood.
When protesting and legal action did not stop the trails, one home-owner took to shooting at trail users with a low caliber rifle. Ther were a lot of complaints, and finally, the bicycle and jogging enthusiast sheriff used the trail and was shot at. Ooops for the shooter. The sheriff was not hit but he did catch the shooter and the shooter was prosecuted. The sheriff, of course, became a huge local hero willing to take the bullet to protect the citizens and trail users in order to catch the guy.

yeah, "ecoterrorism" is a bad word for it- but it is a criminal act (assault? attempted murder?) nonetheless, and I hope this guy does time. There's more of this stuff going on out there than the public knows about, but people are rarely "caught", so it's not news.
About 10 years ago, someone strung a wire across a trail here- a motorcycle trail. Neck level. You can guessed what happened. A family without a son, and no one ever arrested for the crime.

It's ecoterrorism because he was doing it to scare all people from using the trail. The apparant reasoning is to preserve the nature of that area.
"he is on the board of directors for the Behavioral Health Research Center". Wow, isn't that ironic. Someone should do some research into this loon's behavior.

It is amazing that some people think that they have a right to be there and no one else does.
Hmmmmm. Reminds me of a very large hiking lobbiest group that likes to have MTBs banned from everywhere.

Damn...I was hoping the trail N*** (didn't want to spell it out as to not offend people) from the north shore was finally caught. We have had a guy ripping our trails dowo for years. Everything from placing nails in the trail to cutting part of the trail out and leaning it up against the proper trail to make it look good, but when I rider comes to the ladder, it falls out from underneath them.
No one has ever been able to catch him or even see him...
