I can drive
My car is a heap of junk. But I can drive.
The weather is not too cold to bike. But I can drive.
Gas prices are rock-bottom. So I can drive.
The streets are clogged with cars and trucks. But I can drive.
(Dr. Seuss, is that you?)
I am adding pounds. But I can drive.
I live 20 miles from work. But I can drive.
It's the most expensive way to get around: but I can drive!

Pete, Umm, I mean LBM I wish those thoughts even crossed the minds of motorists, to many it's just part of everyday life. It's just how WE live.
Sometimes I think what it would be like if the tables were turned. What if biking and walking and rollerblading and such were the normal ways of getting around and driving was for less fortunate people. Imagine a motorist passing by a group of people going to work and everyone feeling sorry for the motorist as there most be some terrible reason that the motorist can't get around using their own power.

I do, I do!
I know you do, but imagine if most people thought that way. It's not that hard to change public opinion as most people are just following the example that's already been established. The hard part is establishing a new example to be followed.
