Shoe solution to different sized feet...
Hey all, I'm trying to find some solutions to my problem of different sized feet. The problem being that I can't slide the cleat on my left foot back far enough to match my right foot (right foot is bigger). I wear a size 46 shimano shoe, that allows my right foot to be set up just right, but the left not. I use Look pedals.
Anyone have this problem and found a good solution?
(without resorting to buying two pairs)
Cheers

What size is the right foot? And what size is the left foot? Shimano does make a shoe that is heat set to your foot. They are expensive but maybe that would help. The process works much like they do for diabetic shoes. They first warm the insole and as it starts to cool you stand on it and they mold it to your foot. Then after the insole cools they put the shoe on your foot and warm it till it shrinks to fit the insole. At least that is how I think they do it. It was too expensive for me.

It's actually a pretty common issue. My feet are only about half a size apart (15 right, not quite 16 left), so it doesn't cause me many problems. There are at least a couple of shoe exchanges in the country where you could hook up with somebody to swap your unneeded size 10 for their unneeded size 12 or whatever (I did a story on them years ago when I was a newspaper reporter), but I don't remember where or how to get in touch with them. This was pre-Internet, and it was all done by newsletter and mail--the Web should make it easier.
That's not a lot of help, but it's common enough that I'm sure there's a solution out there. For street shoes, anyway. I dunno how many of you differently footed folks are interested in cycling shows.
