Looks like they force you to stay in the drops. Is that a good thing for you?

Bikesdirect calls them "grass racer" bars. Grass racing is an old sport, and I don't know popular it was at its peak.

They look most similar to modern off road drop bars, like WTB's "Dirt Drops" or the On One "Midge"

FWIW, I have alwys sort of lumped all flared-out drop bars into the "randonneur" category.

Did you scroll down on the
https://bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/kilott_os.htm
page at all? It reads: "Mercier Aluminum "Grass-Racer" (clamp 25.4mm) Black Gloss"

They look like something a hipster would put on a bike that's only going to be ridden for a couple blocks at a time.

Bleah:

that's the first thing I thought, too. Good luck finding them if that's what you want, but they wouldn't work for me at all. I probably don't spend more than 5 percent of my time in the drops, and those bars hardly have anyplace else to put your hands.
Your choice, of course, but that's worth considering.
