Asker of silly questions
What kind of bars are these:

What would you call them? I want a pair.

Bikesdirect calls them "grass racer" bars. Grass racing is an old sport, and I don't know popular it was at its peak.
They look most similar to modern off road drop bars, like WTB's "Dirt Drops" or the On One "Midge"

FWIW, I have alwys sort of lumped all flared-out drop bars into the "randonneur" category.

Did you scroll down on the
https://bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/kilott_os.htm
page at all? It reads: "Mercier Aluminum "Grass-Racer" (clamp 25.4mm) Black Gloss"
They look like something a hipster would put on a bike that's only going to be ridden for a couple blocks at a time.

that's the first thing I thought, too. Good luck finding them if that's what you want, but they wouldn't work for me at all. I probably don't spend more than 5 percent of my time in the drops, and those bars hardly have anyplace else to put your hands.Originally Posted by JanMM
Looks like they force you to stay in the drops. Is that a good thing for you?
Your choice, of course, but that's worth considering.
