just a thought

is the sat long ride for the week a good reason to have a "carb" LOADED baked potato. seriously what do you guys eat the day before a long ride

A nice balanced meal, just like mom always said: some lean protein, some starch, some veggies, some good fats.

I'll second the balanced meal suggestion. I also stick to something I absolutely know will not cause me any sort of gastronomical distress. A long ride is definitely not the time to learn that something causes you problems.

Equally important is to eat well after the ride to help your muscles to recover quickly.

As others have said, a balanced meal. Plenty of fruit to snack on is always helpful too. Another thing I do is make sure my water intake is high -- very high. Normally I'll go through 10 litres the day before a big ride. I have to in this climate.

yeah but i eat that every day i want a reason to put everything in the fridge on the potato and eat till im dizzy you guys are no fun

Food usually.

Spaghetti with meatballs the night before. Morning of, oatmeal with some brown sugar and a couple of bananas.
