I changed my first ever flat tire. Next time it will be much easier and less swear words used. It just took me some time to work with the bike levers to get the tire off of the rim and put the tire back on.
I raised the seat higher..to where it should be. I've been moving it up as I go the past couple of days.
I biked 4 miles w/son and walked up one hill. I didn't fall in the lake or hit the duck crossing in front of me when we biked through the park. I attempted to race my son part of way home but obviously he won. He was proud he almost made the speed limit.
It was like something just clicked between the bike and I and everything moved fluidly, the brakes, changing gears, pedaling..all of it and it was this amazing incredible feeling.
No more frustrations. I think I got it. Thank you so much for the help!

My clipless shoes came in today along with DS's new bike. It took more than a few tries and a nasty fall off of the bike to get it, but now it's a breeze. I'd forgotten the desperate feeling of falling and knowing you can't do anything about it. It's all good though. Just a big nasty swollen bruise on the side of my leg.
LOVE the clipless pedals/shoes. Worth every penny.

Update:
I upgraded my handles and added different tires. HUGE difference and the hills are so much easier to navigate. Only issue w/tires is that they don't do as well as the full mountain bike ones that came with my bike when doing the back roads.
Despite what the ER doc said about my fall, I still think I had a concussion. If four days later you still have a headache and feel "out of it", something happened. Closest description is the feeling I have after sleeping off a seizure for about 6 hours.
If you truly need a laugh, my DH bought a white Townie 3i today. It looks rather odd with him on a Townie and myself on a mountain bike. I told him he needs streamers and a white wicker basket (with cute puppy in it) to truly set off the look. He gave me a hurt look and then suggested adding ape hanger handlebars and the chrome girl mud flaps after he saw those accessories in the book. I told him while you are at it, you might as well add truck nuts to finish off the look and burst out laughing.

Nice to hear you working on getting your bike set up the way you want it. Too many folks ride a bike that's not quite right for them, get discouraged and quit. My dad has a Raleigh hybrid sitting in the garage that was ridden once or twice. Didn't like the shifting, never touched it again.
Sorry about the concussion. Nasty things to have.
