Have someone from the US order it and ship it to you via parcel post and remove the packaging so if it's opened at customs doesn't appear new?

Or call it a gift. I have done that with RV television parts going to the EU.

Have you just moved to Toronto?
Anyway, ask your friends around and see who has PO box in NY, then order it to PO box and drive there to pick it up.
I can't believe I actually teach someone cross-border smuggling on the internet forum

You pay him to buy it for you and ship it to you. Pretty simple. Shipping from the US to Canada is anywhere from $10-25 depending on the service used (USPS First Class International is cheap - $5-15 for small items; USPS Priority International costs a bit more - ~$20-30, but comes with a tracking number and is a little bit faster).

Alternatively on another enthusiast forum I know some overseas people use mail-forwarding services, where they get a third-party located in the US to get the item "shipped" to and then ship it out overseas, but I've never heard of a Canadian using one.

You could either send it to my address, and I'll send it to you.

Or I'll buy and send it to you. Do you have paypal?

But then you have to complain about failing medical systems and old age security.
