Removing rust.

What's the best way to remove some rust off a Schwinn Automatic Comp, Joey Garcia that is chrome in color.

I use 00 steel wool to remove rust off of my gun whenever it gets on there...works pretty well, esp. if you don't want to mess up anything more than just the rust
