First off the kid had to be around 15 or so I'd say..maybe a bit older. As far as the bike, it was a walmart bike...a NEXT FS bike at that...
|
As far as I am aware, having dredged through this entire thread, PWRDbyTRD didn't mentioned anything about BMX. He did say the kid went past him first. Someone ELSE threw the BMX stuff into the mix.
Chuvak, allow someone who has achieved a significant "first" for them to enjoy the moment. Maybe it's that you haven't achieved that level of experience yet and you're jealous? |
Yeah...I wasn't sure where BMX came from, but I was too lazy to review where it had been said...I knew I hadn't said it...maybe he is lacking that level of experience :D ...he's just jealous :D
|
Several of us mentioned similar experiences with riders on BMX bikes. The BMX thing just came from the details of our stories. There was no intentional thread jack.

i passed chuvak once... and he posted 40 thousand pages of semantics arguments in response.
it was pretty sweet. |
My evening commute is not long but somewhat uphill. In office clothes, on my heavy and ugly but so convenient commuter with its black panniers I sometimes pass an occasional flashy road cyclist who is breathing harder than me.
I can literally feel my ego inflate, until I realize that this guy maybe has a full century with 8'000 ft climb just behind him. |
Can we got a mod to lock this thread?
|
Passing someone who has previously passed you is FUN. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
|
Maybe the guy wasn't showing off, but I found it funny that he BUSTED ASS past me then slowed back down....showin' his ass in my book :D

If you're going in the same direction as me, we're racing whether you know it or not.

Yes I guess so. It’s hard to achieve experience all you guys have. So tell me, where can I learn to come up with conclusions based solely on observation without knowing the actual fact that person did an act for whatever reason which might be different from that of an observant (YOU) assumptions? Who ever is getting defensive? I see you defending your own comments which were based on no particular facts. Yes the guy feels happy, good for him. What i don’t understand is another 100 people joining the bandwagon and telling their stories of how they passed kids on their bikes. Every day I pass cars, and other cyclists and so what? Perhaps we males are inclined to show off our macho selves on boards like this where no one knows who we are. Rain, why don’t you discuss passing kids on their tricycles in your local shop with other ADULT cyclists. They will laugh in your face! |

How about this: You made a comment without reading the whole thread. Now you’re just trying to save yourself. Once again thanks for sharing and a good night (or is it morning in Australia?).

Thanks for ***************** up the thread.

Haha. Lock it for all i care, I had my laugh.

Chuvak you had better start being nice or your going to end up with coal in your stocking.

But you folded. Shied at the first hurdle. Took your bat and ball and went home. Spat the dummy. *Almost* the same thing happened with your NY mates on another thread, but at least they had some graciousness, and we came to an amicable conclusion. You remind me of the kid on the bike that PWRDbyTRD passed... all glory but no guts when it became tough. |
I rarely think of challenging anyone. But I have to admit when an 18 year old kid on mountain bike taunts me, (a guy in his 50's), and challenges me a few times, and I'm on my fastest bike, it's almost impossible to resist. He asked for it.
You have to admit it's a nice feeling to drop or pass someone who really, really, asks for it. |
