With a bonafide job offer on the table, I'm sure we can scrape together the $ from family to get the bike from the LBS.

FWIW, that State tax refund we were counting on got held up. She pays child support to her ex in NC and was behind for a time, but has since paid off the back due. NC records indicate that she is current, but OK shows she owes over $3k. Naturally, she has asked for them to investigate and I have filed for Injured Spouse after the fact, but I know from experience my portion of our joint refund will take a while to process. And my unemployment has been approved, money on account, but currently have no way to access it. They did away with paper checks here in favor of Debit cards. They don't process the request for the card until after the first deposit is made to the account.
Sounds like a bit of bureaucracy goin' on but no bad news there! Congrats!

Looks like biking season is kicking into gear here and I'll be on the forum much less as I'll be doing 7 day 60 hour weeks for the next 8 months, but drop me a line if there's anything I can do.

Good luck with the interview, No1mad!

I wish you well...

I imagine if I don't find a job quick, then they might start charging a storage fee or I may have to consider just letting them sell it on consignment and let them recoup all associated costs before I see any of the proceeds.
That's what sucks about being laid off. Sometimes you can't afford to save money.

Update 2.0

My unemployment Debit Card has arrived. I will be picking my bike up later today. Had one interview yesterday with Wally World that is about 12 miles away, they haven't sent me for a UA yet, nor have they returned my calls. Another temp agency called about an assignment that is my town- maybe 2 miles away- and I start that tomorrow. Pay isn't the best, but I'll be bringing home more than unemployment, keep my nights/weekends/holidays free, and best of all, I will be spending virtually nothing* on transportation. Hell, I could walk to work and back if I had to.

*except for a new SS or 3spd IGH as soon I pass the probationary period , and possibly a Wald basket ASAP, and lights, and....

I wasn't into cycling back then. I only incorporated the bike into my commute due the bus going on detour due to a massive road construction project. Besides, she has certain, ah, attributes that I really, REALLY like

Nope- I'll either troll CL or go with BD for n+1. I do have to hit the Evil Empire up for a flashlight to tide me over until I can order something from Shiningbeam.
