A peanut butter and banana sandwich on wheat bread with a small glass of orange juice about 1-2 hours before you ride and energy will not be a problem.

Bananas give me diabolical heart burn. Even if I eat a banana at noon I can still wake up in the middle of the night! My doctor told me they are the culprit.

Some people just can't eat bananas, I can't seem to eat them before working out, I just get heartburn too. Otherwise I am fine if I am just relaxing.
