Solution looking for a probem

I think this is a solution looking for a problem. I don't even use GPS.

LOL Anyone that needs to ride with their eyes glued to a GPS is already lost!

Cyclists are good for buying lame solutions to a perceived problem. See the helmet thread on A&S list.

Reasons I have crashed my bicycle:
-I was not skilled enough to control it down that fast a hill
-A car hit me

-brake failure

Reasons I have not crashed my bike:
-there was a big stationary thing right in front of me

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Does this gizmo actually exist?

Every year we get a bunch of posts from engineering students who have to invent or develop some kind of bicycling gadget for a school project. This one is more imaginative than most but you'll never see one on my bike even if they give it to me.

I'm a Retro Grouch.

Id imagine that the driection arrows it projects onto the ground are about as visible as those on the 'lightlane, project your own bikelane' style taillights. IE, not visible at all.

If having to multiitask watching the road and the gps is such a bid deal (which it is Not); then there are better solutions. how about having the GPS talk for example? Or for the hearing impaired, make the left/right grips vibrate -actually, this might be a legit concept in other applications.....

It's an interesting idea but probably would use too much power. The example of the rider avoiding the obstacle is silly but that doesn't mean the idea doesn't have some value.

Voice navigation might be better (it's common in cars).

The "vibrating handlebar" idea would be hard to implement.

Looks to me like one of those ideas that will get filed in the same category as "Write-Only Memory"
