Looking for some advice

Hi guys.. I have been lurking around in the forum for few days , mainly the pics of each section.. I was just amazed by the bikes..

The place where I stay its quiet difficult to get a decent looking SS.. The one that are available are either a roadster or the size is too small for me..

Now I have nothing against roadster but its just not my cup of tea (would say mainly with the looks )..
I was think if it is possible to makeover a roadster to simple SS hybrid.. What Ii mean is changing the handle(flat bar/bullhorn), seat & seat post and tires & rims(something similar to Schwinn hybrids like Schwinn Sporterra)

The roadster i had in mind is.. Goldline Deluex

Well what I was asking is it even possible with help from LBS without too much modifications to frame & hubs & cranks or is it a very bad idea and i should just get a geared hybrid..

Appreciate your help/suggestions..

P.S: Not sure which category this post belongs.. Mods please move it to the correct section if required..

Hi,

You have probably got no replies because its hard to fathom your intent.

The bike you linked to you can't change the wheels because of the brakes,
you can't change the bars because of the brakes, given that there is no
point changing the saddle and seat post either to most people.

Its simply the wrong bike to buy and try to modify. And you can only buy
it on the Indian sub continent, so we've no idea what your choices are.

A nice copy of a UK 60's Raleigh 3 speed would be a lot better than
that very clunky old bike, with very old rod / stirrup brakes.

rgds, sreten.

I was expecting to be flamed.. but lucky me..
Thanks sreten for making it clear that its difficult and trouble some task..
After much thought i decided to try and get a Kona Dew or KHS vitamin B or Schwinn Sporterra(still unsure of which one) and learn to use the gears.. For some reason i am just not comfortable with gears on cycle..

Compromise- get a bike with an IGH. Looks like a SS, but has gears
