The very first time I ever rode a fixed in about the third mile of the ride, on Halloween night, some teen age kids ran out in front of me as a joke on a down hill section. This was also the night I learned I could track skid through pylons. Almost got a bag of candy too.

(in old man voice) Come back here you little whipper-snappers....Why...when I was your age..(insert old-man comment about walking up hill to school here)
Seriously...I've got 4 kids. They do things on a daily basis to test their boundaries. Whether its drinking from the milk carton or taking just a few more steps further down the street than they're supposed to before looking over their shoulder to see who's watching. I believe the true technique with kids is to set boundaries and then make them extremely aware of the consequences of violating those boundaries. Every so often they just have to be reminded. Just my 2 cents.

LOL! "Hey Puffy FAce!" if a 6 year old said that to me I'd laugh out loud... then again, if some idiot Manhattanite said it to me I'd stomp on his head.
This rollerblader called me a fat ass when I rode past him once, I slowed down and just rode next to him and he fell down becuase he was too busy looking to see if I was going to push him over! It was funny.
Anyway, glad those kids got a decent scare.
