Regional rides
Maybe I'm just blind, stupid, a noob, or a combination of the three, but where would be a good place to post a thread, get information, get the word out, etc. about getting a group together? My friend and I (in warmer months) hop on out roadies or fixies (depending on your mood) and go bomb around downtown Milwaukee WI. We often see other enthusiasts pounding away on the streets but don't bother to talk to them while they are in their 'zone'. We have fun by ourselves, but also think it would be cool to have some other people around who can match our speed/recklessness to join in on the fun. Any good forums to try and get a word out? Plus, when either of us have some other obligation, it would be nice to have another person to call on as a riding buddy

Well, there is a couple of places I can think of off the top of my head.
First would be the Regional Rides and Events- https://www.bikeforums.net/forumdispl...des-and-Events.
The other would be Regional Discussions (pick your local one)- https://www.bikeforums.net/forumdispl...al-Discussions

Outside Bikeforums, you might try doing a Google search on bicycle clubs to see what already exists in your area.

Check out meetup.com. I ride with a couple groups off here that are local to me and it's been great. Plus it gives you access to many route maps.

"Recklessness" and groups don't go together very well. In fact, you should treat reckless groups as if they were nuclear waste and stay FAR away. Your LBS is probably the best source of info about local groups.

Thank you everyone! Checking all the links out right now.
That is a very true statement, and I guess I left it kind of vague. I used 'recklessness' as an open-ended adjective. We are not reckless in a sense of safety, we wear helmets, high-vis, reflectors, we stop at stop lights, and stay in the bike lane, but we do things like go down stairways on our road bikes (I know) and there are some fun parking structures to ride through, which is where the reckless comes from.
