New frame on the way...
Been worrying myself to death for the past couple of months about what I want for my next bike. It's always n+1 around here and I thought, hmmmm, maybe I'll build something that I'll want forever and won't need/want to change. We'll see how that goes.
My idea is a bike used for fitness and for runs to the coffee shop and local paved trails. I wanted a cool old school looking bike with a little bit of bling. My roads are all hilly so I wanted something that wouldn't kill me riding up hills. My ride home always includes a Cat 5 climb back to my house so a low granny gear is a must. My partner rides with me and neither of us are fast riders so I didn't need a really fast bike but fast enough to keep myself entertained.
I've been going back and forth between steel and Ti and well, I decided. Ti it is and I'm getting a Lynskey Viale. I went to a local coach/Lynskey dealer and got a pro sizing done and the frame is on order. I have 2 bikes now that I'll continue to ride until I get this one built up. My partner isn't keen on me spending all this cash at once so I'll be building it over the course of the next several months.
This is my planned build
Viale frame (on it's way)
Lynskey carbon touring fork
Thomson cockpit
Ti Cycles custom Ti bar (it's going to be modeled after the FSA Metropolis)
XT/XTR 3x10 drivetrain, crankset will be an XT touring running 48/36/26 and the cassette will be 11/36 -- like I said, I want granny gearing baby!
XTR disc brakes
Hope hubs laced to DT Swiss TK 540 hoops using DT Competition double butted spokes. Hoops and spokes in black, hubs will be polished.
King green headseat and BB
Salsa green post clamp and QR skewers
Brooks Cambium saddle in the slate finish
Black leather Portland Design Works grips
What do you all think about my future build? Any changes you would make?

Sounds like a well thought out project and a future sweet ride. Can't wait to see future pics when you get the bike finished .
