Bike stable adjustment
New bike on the way, and germinating about what to keep, what to sell, and what to put on the bike(s) I am keeping.
Currently I have a Cannondale synapse alloy/tiagra and a Fisher hyrbrid.
Most of my saddle time is commuting and family rides, and almost all of that is pulling a trailer, a tagalong, or both.
Next most saddle time is training rides and group rides.
I also triathlon in the Summers.
I'd like to do some light touring or camping using the trailer for cargo/gear in the future.
The bike coming my way is a Volagi Viaje.
I think this will be great for the family/commuting/touring uses and at least usable for all of my bike uses just about all of my uses, albeit possibly a smidge slow for triathlons or group rides.
I'm a "participant" in tris, not a podium dweller - so shaving 10 seconds with a faster bike is not a big deal to me.
Now the various and conflicting thoughts:
- throw all my commuter gear on the Viaje, sell the cannondale and fisher, and pick up a used tri bike
- keep the Fisher as a foul weather commuter
- get a set of light wheels and faster tires so I'd have a "faster" Viaje configuration
- keep the cannondale if I'm noticeably faster on it than the Viaje
Mostly I can answer these questions by exploration/experimentation over time, but the one thing that hinges on it now is whether I get a carbon or alloy seat stem on the Viaje - carbon seat stems being not so awesome for pulling a tagalong, even less so when there's a trailer attached to the tagalong.
Anyone have any clarity for me?

So you're only going to have three bikes? I don't see a problem. (note sig file)

same here .. each bike has a Purpose .. or a History that keeping it lets me remember ..
The Hybrid with a Kickstand is probably what can be a good baby in the trailer tow rig
You must have a really secure inside your Office parking place or at home. if the fanciest bike is your commuter ..
