Dietitian
Hi,
Interested to know if there are recommendations for dietitians either in person (around Vernon Hills, Illinois) or online, who would be recommended for providing nutritional advice that will help with cycling?
For context, I'm 50'ish, not looking to be an elite athlete, but use cycling as my main form of exercise. Essentially wanting to complement 50-70 mile rides with good nutritional support (probably some weight loss/control etc) and want to know the current evidence that can be tailored to my phenotype. I am medically trained so would want to engage with the dietitian on the evidence.
My insurance does cover some sessions... so ideally would look to use these, but if justified I would consider outside this with the right credentials...
Thanks

Hmm... it would appear I'm the only one to have an interest in nutrition?!
Recognising the slim chance of any advice on local experts... anyone online that is worth checking with?

Should you pioneer it, it would be of interest to read about what you're finding & your outcome.

Not in your area but I think the kind of person you are looking is called a sports nutritionist these days. It's a fascinating subject that we're still learning about.

I'm interested, and I read somewhere that a RD can be covered by health insurance, since it is preventative instead of reactive.
I moved here to Kenosha, WI from Vernon Hills, IL. I've been meaning to do the same thing you mention, just have not made time for it yet.
