8/20- Spin Time Trial which I unceremonially crushed along with my teammate Ray H.
8/21- 25.8 miles, not really a ton of work. I rode 10 miles into the park, then did one hill three times in the same gear. I climbed in the saddle, which I'mnot used to, until a certain point each time and I sprinted to the top. The first time I put myself into oxygen debt, and each time after, I mimicked the first time in wattage, positioning, and markers. I'm going to need all the help I can get when I do my first 1/2/3 race on Saturday.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm a Cat3 now? I'm the Ultimate Cat.

8/22 - Yes. 15 or so hot muggy afternoon miles up and down a lake road along Lake of the Ozarks. Steep hills, but nothing too long. No flat sections anywhere. It's either up or it's down.
I went swimming this morning. So does that mean if I go for a run this evening I'm a triathlete?

8/23...........64.5 miles at just a click over 19 average. Nasty southerly wind that brought with it pretty warm temps. Nice morning over all.

30 miles today. 9 of it out to watch a co-worker's son race his bike in the Cat 4/5's then the remaining 21 miles around a local lake. Got rained on, but was an otherwise nice ride.

I'd watch it there, Scott is getting faster and faster, he could be a swinging dick in the 3/4's next year.
As for me, I did my first 1/2/3 race today. After launching a 3-man-break and getting swallowed up, a National Champion launched a counter-attack and I couldn't answer.

8/24 = 69 miles.
up and out the door at sunrise and boy it was a bit chilly. i love riding this early in the morning. i was thinking about a century, but around mile 40ish i just didnt get that warm fuzzy feeling from the legs. still a century, just of the metric variety. i had maybe 10 minutes of off the bike time as i tried to power through the miles.

I'm so stoked to ride since yesterday. I got a lot of compliments from some big-name riders on my race, even though I dropped. I've got one HUGE deal in the making cycling-wise, and my riding life (which is basically my life) can't get much better. There's so much going on in my head and the miles just fly by. Not to mention that I'm riding every day, gatting faster by the day and I'm losing weight that I couldn't crack before.
I did just under 80 miles today, and 15 miles of it was at threshold while I was trying to get out from underneath a huge raincloud which was dumping water on me. Not too much climbing, but when I was ascending, I felt very comfortable with the smoothness of my technique.

Did 31 miles at Stony Creek Metropark on Saturday in serious heat & humidity. Couldn't believe the number of bikes circulating on the roads there. We kept encountering virtual pelotons zipping around, including everyone from the most casual riders to kitted-alike racing teams.
Must be some events coming up in the fall that everyone's training for, and it's certainly the best place that I know of to do exactly that.
Also a chance to try out the new Edge 705 that I got as a gift at my retirement party this week. Cool gadget, and beats using my Forerunner for biking. And even the park roads show up on the included maps.

8-24. 17 miles that started with a nasty headwind and then was sweet speed on the way home. I raced a car off a stop sign and chased down another cyclist that was at first just a speck in the distance. It was glorious. I'm going to try my second club ride with the fast group tomorrow. hopefully, no dopping.
