It was nice and windy today; 65º and sunny. I did 57 miles. I started the ride feeling a little sluggish, but a 5 minute interval broke me loose and I felt great from then on.
I did have one driver altercation:
On Main St in Berea I had a nice tailwind, and I had picked my pace up to 36 mph on the dot when a silver car slowly passes me. Not wanting to waste the opporitunity, I try to catch it's draft but I was a little pooped. At the stop sign a few hundred feet down he starts waving out of his window and looks back at me.
Exoecting some d-bag, I pop out of earphone and he says "You were doing 45 back there!!!" to which I say "Then why did you pass me? It's a 35 bro.".
He said something I didn't hear because I still had one earphone in, and I inch in closer to him and say "Tell your friends who want to honk at me that they better have a snappy engine to get away quickly" I started chuckling and he had a nervous laugh, and pull off and honks/waves.
That guy needs to get his speedometer checked...

I don't want to hear any more unless it involves;
a.) You neatly inserting your foot up his ass
or
b.) You selling him an S-Works Transition with a Zipp Sub-9 on the side.

Actually I found him the DEAL on Ebay. He purchased a Trek Equinox 7 like new for $700.00 and local pick up. He's a good guy even if he is a Tri boy.

38 miles this morning. it was cold at 30 degrees, but the wind was calm. a great change from my past two efforts into a 20 mph headwind. i have had a great week off work spent riding and chillaxing with family. i need to find a way to make this happen more often. later.

35ish miles with Leinad and his wife. A slight breeze at 30mph from the west and temps around 40 made for a very nice spring like experience....

34 miles early this morning. About 28 miles in I come across a large group of runners taking up the MUP I use for miles 25-30. They were wearing their race numbers and it turns out I came across a road race called the Trailbreaker Marathon and met up with it at the turnaround for the 10K race. I quickly became trapped as the number of runners got bigger and bigger. I found a spot between a few groups and simply coasted along with them at 5-6 mph until I came to an intersection and away I went. Almost felt like I had pedalled into the middle of a parade. Oh well. Finished strong and had a laugh over the whole thing.

103 miles with the Lake Erie Wheelers "Calvin's Challange" training group. Was a rolling/hilly route with the wind in our faces on most of the way out then switching to be in our faces when we returned to North/East. Wish we rode in Gary's slight breeze.

50k trial ride on a route I laid out for the city parks department. Part on the MUP, part in the county.
Then I met up with a friend and we rode another 20 miles at his pace.

Gary, here is the link to the weekly ride. Great bunch of seasoned riders. Eric, who host the rides, did 406 miles two summers ago in the 24 hr challenge race in Michigan.
