82 miles of wandering throughout south central Wisconsin. Planned for 77, but a detour out in the middle of nowhere left me no choice but to add a few miles. Despite the relatively flat route, my legs were cooked at the end, not to mention my right ankle that keeps getting almost better then turns out to not be any better at all.

Prolly went a little too hard near the middle portion of the ride and I paid for it at the end. Didn't bonk, but definitely came very close to hitting the wall. And as an added bonus, computer froze up on me and dumped the 1st ~30 miles.

I was supposed to ride today. People kept coming into the shop. We finally herded them all out at 8:00pm (we close at 7pm). No riding for me.

Started my group ride tonight. Got 3.5 miles into it and my front wheel was making a fairly nasty grinding noise when any weight was put on it. Don't know if it was spoke rub (which I am hoping it was) or if it were in the hub. Also noticed a nice click noise coming from what I believe to be the bottom bracket. Only clicks when pedalling. Doesn't click when you are off the bike cranking, so that doesn't sound good. And to top it off, nasty noise from the front derailleur when I would crank on it. 3.5 miles in and I felt like I was on a Walmart bike. I am hoping for nothing major and that my LBS hooks me up, otherwise I am off the bike until I can afford repairs

Confounded by customers again. This time it was a woman who rented a bike and didn't return until 7:50pm - 50 minutes after we closed. By that time, there was no way I was riding. (I live 75 minutes away).

7/15 no real desire to ride, just 25miles was all and the effort was on the lame side. Should have listened to the body and just stayed home.

A punchy 85 miles. Still getting used to climbing as much as I am. I think I found out why I'm fast up hills.

7/16 - 38 total miles
Channahon / Minooka area (33 miles). Was back by 4:30ish p.m.. Two hours later, we got dumped on (1.1 inches of rain in 30 minutes or so). Got 5 more miles in this evening before it got too dark.

7/17 53 miles, left at 6:30 am, what a great time to ride, except for the first 5miles leaving the city, I was only passed by one car in 25 miles. Very peaceful at the hour and lots of wild life out and about. Did get a little rain but it was very light and I never really got wet. Called the wife and she meet me on the road and we went for coffee and donuts are our favorite spot. Nice way to start the weekend.

7/18, 51 Miles

162 Miles this week, 438 so far this month.

Been riding the county roads out west of Joliet the past few weekends.
As far N. as Route 126, W. as Grove Road, S. as Route 6, E. as Houbolt Road.

Today was my 1st time on Route 126, BAD idea. No shoulder, no center median
for traffic to get around me, and LOTS of traffic. Got on at Drauden, off at Ridge.

There's a large Rottweiler near Bell & Obrien Roads that helps me with my sprinting.
I think they probably have an invisible fence, but I don't really want to find out otherwise.

Cheers.
