9/14 37 miles moderate pace, strange wind though, it seemed to be along the ground and not above about 20 or 30 ft.

nocondorfx 09-14-09 07:34 PM

29 mile commute

My "usual ride" from Appleton to High Cliff, then east toward Hilbert, up toward Kaukauna, and then back home. I've never bothered measuring it, but it probably runs 35-40 miles.

45 minute recovery ride. I really needed it after yesterday's race.

garysol1 09-15-09 11:26 AM

Yes, 40 fast miles with my riding friend Mike. We headed out west to Lorain from Avon Lake then headed South into Elyria then back east through North Ridgeville before turning back north to Avon Lake.

I "raced" in the C class, it was a real workout for me.
That was my first time at a Cross race, I about died but it was fun.

Cool, I hope we can meet a future race. Are you riding the Stark Velo race on the 26th?

I did the group cyclo cross practice at Reagan Park tonight. Pain was administered to all.

I really got a kick out of the "recovery part" on the hill intervals and then every one's perceived Zone 3/low 4 cruise interval. Yikes! my body needs to switch from RR to cross real soon.

I'm really not in shape for it but I'm pretty sure I'll do the next one.
I just got a Cross bike (Jake the Snake) on Saturday, this is new to me.
Some sport to take up at age 51, huh?:twitchy:

I feel your pain. I started last year by doing three cross races. I did the first race on a full suspension mtb then used a cross bike for the next two races. BTW, I was 55 when I started to race cross, so, compared to me you are the "young gun".:D

Congrats on the new bike and a few added lbs. Is the bike flashy or stealth?

nocondorfx 09-17-09 07:22 AM

Does it have a big "S" on the headtube?

garysol1 09-17-09 09:05 AM

35 miles this morning. Nice and cool. Arm warmers for the entire ride. Not much wind allowed for a relatively easy 20.2 average MPH........
