Elgin Crit. Did better than I thought I would in the 5's - nvr beat me in a sprint....for "20th" - they let in about 4-5 lapped riders in that one

The Open Cat Master 30-39 was BRUTAL. I don't think I have been in that kind of pain for a long time. 40+ minutes of hell. Big thanks to MJH3 for keeping me racing.

Official results place me...at least in front of 3 DNF's. 14th place.

Oh....and I suck. Now...business travel and a TTT next Sunday.

I was in a Yellow jersey with BIKE WORLD written across it. I took Hiliard Ave down to Metro Parks, over to Lake Road and back around to Avon. I did see quite a few guys out today which is always nice.

I was out in the Erie county backroads, most likely it was one of the Lorain Wheelmen.
Wonder what all these duct tape on the road markers meant around the area?

You guys rocked it out there today. Just rolling off the line with the 30-39 group took guts. Those guys were all business.

Pics if I can get around to loading them, etc. And I got your mano-a-mano sprint duel with nvr to the line on video. When I get around to it... I'm no JDub.

Awesome job, all of you.

Oh yeah. I rode 21 or something miles today. But I didn't race.

I took a try at racing today also. Finished 19th out of a starting group of 30 in the Cat 5's.

Oh, I raced in Elk Grove with the faster riders

Need a business card or flyer for Bike forums

Due to whatever, there seems to be more folks riding. And for whatever reason they seem to cross my path where I have some sort of conversation with them about either the tow path, how to get downtown via the steel yards, what to do to keep heading West after the towpath, or just at a gas station and in riding gear with bike in back seat.

People are getting, or are more, interested in cycling!

During these conversations, I tell them to check us out at the forum, but in every case I asking them to "remember" our website--this does not work, as many won't remember the info.

Do we have an approved flyer or something we can give to prospective members so that when they get access to the net they can dial us up and possibly meet and ride with some of the coolest: you all!

Saturday, did a ride out of Waterford Bike Factory

Beautiful day and a nice ride going through the countryside and through Lyons, Lake Geneva, Burlington and back to Waterford WI. about 45 miles of gently rolling roads. Some road construction caused a flat tire though, did not care for that.

Ditto for me on Sunday, although my 16.7 average was more of an effort . When I got to the Metropark where I was going to do my laps, I was p.o.'d to find that the rear tire that I had changed on the road the last time was flat again. Of course, considering I changed it by the side of a busy road in 85 humid degree weather with the sun beating down and the sweat pouring off me, I guess I could have screwed it up, but I'll be curious to see where the leak is.

Anyway, I decided to take a chance since I can do laps of 6 or 10 miles, so just stopped back at my car on every lap to top up the tire. It would lose about 10-15psi per lap, so not too big a deal, and I was glad that I didn't have a total blowout and end up walking .

36.3 through Clay, Park, and Putnam Counties in IN. What I thought was a short stretch of filler gravel ended up being 2 miles of gravel up and down hills. The rest of the ride was ok though!

08/04 - 14.5

I don't normally post my rides because they're rarely as long as the ones you guys take, but man, I worked HARD for my 14.5 miles today.

8/4: 10 mile ride, truncated because of the storm (tornado?) in Elmhurst/Schiller park Illinois. Made it back to my garage just as the cloudburst hit.
