When will it end, (a Rant)

I have lived in Ohio 52 years (whole Life), and this has to be the most dissmial spring I have ever seen. When is it going to end, usually we get a few good days to help us get by, but even those are colder and wetter than usual and the no-stop snow uaghhhhhh!! Global warming my a**, I don't care if it rains just give me a couple of days in the 60's so I feel like there's hope.

It is what it is. Take a vacation, hole up in the basement working on a project, or move.

Just give it a couple of months, then you can gripe about all the mosquitos and the need to cut the grass every other day.

Chicago als seems to be in the grip of eternal winter. We had snow on St. Partrick's Day. Snow. I'm worried that I'll have to start wearing one of those artifical UV visors like they wear in Iceland.

I forgot that spring is not yet upon us, wishful thinking. The grass cutting comment is a low blow John!!

I really don't know of March when it wasn't cold. Heck some times it doesn't warm up in the midwest until May ... and even then we have had some cold May's. Here's hoping Spring comes soon. I think your only option is to move to Arizona... I'm thinking of it myself

at least this gives me time for the new fork upgrade, and group upgrade on my old steel bike.

new wheels, group, fork, brakes, etc.. pretty much just keeping the seat/post, bars/stem, and frame.. lol

More snow on the way for some unlucky souls in the Upper Midwest (better now than in April or May) in the next few days. Flurries forecast here, which is good becuase while I don't mind spinning in the basement, I do NOT want to go back to the basement after getting 120+ miles on the road in the last few days

Nothing like riding a bike on a beautiful 117 degree day (only July and August, when I presume people are indoors on their trainers to avoid the weather)

i was ready to wax poetic about "hope springs eternal" then I dared to look at the 10 day forecast

spring will be that much sweeter when it finally gets here

What you're seeing down there is what we typically have up here all the way through April. I've often told my wife that the biggest difference in seasons between here and where I grew up in Cincinnati is that real Spring weather always arrived there much earlier than up here. One reason why I always hated Easter Sunday when I was a kid was that it was always a warm, sunny, beautiful day when I could think of all the things I wanted to do outside, but I was forbidden to even set foot out of the door because I was wearing my new Easter suit (with a scratchy collar and tie!).

Up here it's rare to see anything green no matter when Easter falls, and this weekend we're expecting another few inches of snow!

yeah i know, i live in the midwest. its the windy city where one day it can be 70 and sunny, then the next day 30 and snowy. BUT, i am nearing the end of my patience. i have a couple days off and the temps are forecasted to barely top 30 degrees. snow. sleet. rain. wind. i keep blowing flats on the trainer. why am i being punished?!#@!

later.

I don't know where you're at in Ohio, but you've got it easy today! Check out the Nexrad radar screen at https://www.wunderground.com/radar/mi...ze=2x&ID=MKX19 - now that's spring weather worth ranting about.

Bikeforlife, North Ohio near Cleveland is the place, and all I can say is that the only thing that makes this bearable is watching you poor saps (said with utmost dignity) get pounded in Wisc.

Momof, yes it did ease the pain a might!!

We've gotten leveled today. Worst driving conditions of the whole winter so far. It came down heavy and wet and then practically flash froze. Took over an hour to get back from Crystal Lake......where I bought my son a Giant tricycle for his birthday.

It's snowing again tonight in Cleveland. We're supposed to get 4"-8". I can relate to what you're saying. I've lived here 55 years and these last couple of years winter doesn't seem to ever want to end. Remember last year when the Indians had to play those three "home" games against the Angels at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Anyway I'm hoping to get out later next week and ride. Hang in there Spring will be here by mid- May!
