Though these were taken after 130 and 107 miles respectively, this is what aham23 and I looked like at the top of Blue Mound last June:

Another data point. I (recursive) walked up part of the final climb of the HHH. And I'm only a little ashamed to admit it.

Damn it! I'm out of town that weekend and will miss both this and Udder!
No chance for me to redeem myself after the last hilly ride....

As CyLowe mentioned it is not for the faint of heart. This route will have more climbs than most rides that use the word "Hilly" in their title.

Again, I don't climb, but I love punishment. I will be there because it if climbing that I do not do well.

I think what CyLowe is trying to get at is....don't come if you don't like riding alone or would need to bail out because it is too hard.

There doesn't appear to be any drop rule and that means everyone would be on their own. The only way I would see aham and CyLowe after the first 0.5 mile mark would be becasue they would need me to get back into the car and drive them home.

That said...if you are a slow climber, but like to push it on the flats and downhills....you may just end up riding next to me.

Thank you for putting it bluntly. We'll have contact information in case anyone is lost or broken down, but at this point we will NOT have anyone officially riding as a sweep on this ride (I'll add this in to the original post).

Also, I am working with CPclydesdale, who runs the excellent Uphill Grind Bicycle & Coffee Shop in Cross Plains, on some refinements and clarifications to the route I whipped up.

Mmmm! g**damm, Jimmie! This is some serious gourmet s***! Usually, me and Vince would be happy with some freeze-dried Taster's Choice right, but he springs this serious GOURMET s*** on us! What flavor is this?

I for one am already planning the wimp refinements shortcuts involving Meadowvale Rd and Union Valley Road...but then again I might be riding to the start which would mean I would just head east on Mineral Point.

Wimp refinements are quite alright. I've cut off parts of the HHH 200k route and Dairyland Dare 200k routes when I found I just didn't have the legs. Thankfully, there are spots to make this happen throughout the ride. And it's part of why I put the Barlow climb as an optional climb/descent torture/treat near the end of the ride.

Knowing one's own limits and options are quite important on a ride like this.

Check out the big brain on CyLowe97. Shouldn't this be the royal with cheese metric? I certainly don't know what 62 miles are.

Nice ride. If I'm in, I'll sweep. I'm slow and know the area, the perfect combination.

Pencil me in for now. I don't what the other half is doing yet. Playing on the hills again should be fun.

I am going to try to make this ride as well. Did the 100k HHH last weekend instead of the BFNIC ride because of kids soccer schedule's. Should be all finished with soccer season by then.

You hurt my feelings Rob.

Sam, we may be able to make that happen but I haven't tried my old rack on it.

OK you guys in Wisc. Listen up, please! Would any of you welcome a couple of ohio boys to your little sufferfest if we were stupid enough to drive up there? Welcome, as in, have a spare place to lay our weary heads? the price of gas alone is more than most good hotels, so that would make it more of a possiblility and this would be a definite MAYBE at best.

That's the spirit, iab! But the official name is the 'Double or Nothing' Metric. It's a tribute to aham23's gambling tendencies when he rides up steep hills. And my lust for free beer.

Wow. Cool! Thanks for offering (if you're in, that is).

And, I don't mean just like a paper cup, I'm talking about a glass of beer.

The ride would be that much more tempting if at the end you were serving filthy animals. Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste good.

More in a few days (heading out for weekend), but there will be tasty beverages to wash down some recovery baked goodness at the end of the ride.

Disco.

OUT.. Not burning another weekend of vacation for this one, as tempting as riding all by my lonesome above the cheddar curtain sounds to me..

As for the ride, I'm in. Depending on how I'm feeling I may try to gut it out using my standard double crankset but if I'm not feeling it I'll swap to my compact. I was hoping to keep it in reserve until the HHH...

Seeing as how everyone else is sharing their pics fron HHH '07 here's me. I was in tears after GRINDING my way up into blue mound state park. Damn was that ride brutal. Afterwards I felt like a couple of hard pipe hittin' individuals went to work on me with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You know, got medieval on my ass.
