I'm finally getting a fitting tomorrow. It's kind of a lengthy drive, but after talking with the fitter I'm pretty confident that I'll be very happy with it.
As it stands, I think I've got my upper body and front end pretty well suited. I did 80 miles without any back pain at all, but I feel my bars could go lower, and my position doesn't feel right in the hooks.

so on my ride today i came up with a wonderful idea. We make a parody of this song/video. just replace 'car' with 'bike'. whos in?

And I thought Scraper Bike and The Juggernaut were some of the funniest YouTube vids around...

One of the more inspirational videos I've seen:

Lance Armstrong Alpe D'Huez 2001 II

This is friggin awesome. At 11:30 last night, Stephen Colbert told the viewers of his TV show to go to http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/name_ISS/index.html
and vote for "Colbert" as the name for a new space station. 8.5 hours later (probably earlier, I just now checked) and "Colbert" is now the leading name for the space station.

So he's got his own ice cream flavor, his own bridge in Hungary, his word was Merriam-Webster's "Word of the Year", and now he gets his own space station?

EDITED to include a bird, reptile and spider breed, all carrying his name.

Free and open Wifi:

I'm putting together a list of places where I'm getting WiFi internet free and in the clear. Right now I'm parked outside a pool hall on the south side of Milwaukee listening to streaming music at 18Mbps.

If you know of any good spots in your area ... POST 'EM! I need them for when I'm on the road taking pix at the races so I can upload ASAP after the Pro race. The Madison, Kenosha, and Beloit area needed soon, and certainly anywhere in the greater Chicago area. I can post a master list if there is interest.

:D

I need new gp4000s's for the upcoming season. Then I saw they have these. I am going to do everything I can to acquire them:

Word is that any color besides black is a lower performing tire. No where can I find Continental saying that the LTD tire has the Black Chili compound....

Not the tires that I just purchased. They're my favorite color too.

Conti is probably just releasing those to compete for the hipster "everything white" market.

nocondorfx 03-11-09 09:57 PM

while this may be true,

white is the most pimpin color around. it would match my saddle, tape, and new glasses

CrimsonKarter21 03-12-09 10:17 AM

Or get the Pro3 Races in white.

nocondorfx 03-12-09 11:17 AM

i want my tires to last more than 1k miles. conti ftmfw

Allegheny Jet 03-12-09 12:46 PM

Scott, There is no doubt that $260 of bright white tires will make you faster in Cleveland.

CrimsonKarter21 03-12-09 01:18 PM

Speaking of tires, I'm relishing the day that I get these bad boys in the mail and glued up.
At only $40/tire, those are around 70-90% off of dealer cost on PBK. As soon as I found that out, I suddenly had the urge to buy even more.

With the condition of the roads, I think these tires will save my race wheels.

You racing those pave tubulars all year, or just earlier season races?

I'll see how I like them in the early season. Garmin was running the Pave's all throughout the year last year, and I already know they're a grippy tire. We'll see. If I don't like them, I've got some practically new Conti Competition and Clement team tires.

nocondorfx 03-12-09 11:35 PM

i went with what i know works. ordered another set of 4000S's. tire love.

CrimsonKarter21 03-13-09 11:21 AM

Good, white would just look odd on a red/black frame. I know, I tried with my Cannondale.

we got them in at work today. glad i passed. a little too flashy. plus no black chilli

CrimsonKarter21 03-13-09 11:44 PM

I'm either going with Conti Gatorskins in 25mm or Vittoria Pave open tubulars for my clincher tires. One flat in 5000 miles is too many.

nocondorfx 03-19-09 10:50 AM

so i usually go to the melt every weds. and polish the plate off when i order the big popper which is herbed cream cheese, cheddar, and a ****load of fresh jalapenos served on fried texas toast bread covered in powdered sugar and served with fries.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3149/...018f7987_o.jpg

so if thats not fatty enough, yesterday i go to the buckeye beer engine and order the fatty melt.

This is a 1/2 lb. hamburger thats bun is 2 texas toast grilled cheese and bacon sandwhiches. fried pickle and chips to top it off. my belly and heart still hurt today.

i wonder why i'm not losing weight....

CrimsonKarter21 03-19-09 12:43 PM

Good God.
I had a Monte Cristo with a real banana shake the other day at our local version of Melt; Grilled.
