Ski Jumping video from Chicago !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztr-1BdXTSo

Gonna blast up to the Twin Cities on Wednesday night to catch the 70 meter hill, then Eau Claire to get the 90 meter hill on Friday night. In Feb. there is a 120 meter hill competition  near Lacrosse !!

Note: the kid that jumps from the very top of the tower and gets the second longest jump in the video (high fiving and hugging teammates) is only 12 years old.

So... I've got the bike, but will I have the skill to match it?
No riding it for a few weeks. This is Hell.

What ever happened to the Netherlands training camp?

Allegheny Jet 01-28-09 09:05 AM

Nice bike Mitch.

How tall must one be to turn the knob on that dryer?

nocondorfx 01-28-09 11:19 AM

Fizzled into the air along with my knee... and it was Argentina. I think it was for the better, now I don't have to buy a plane ticket and I can save for my EuroTrip.

Yeah, I know right!? El Diablo rojo set me up. It's a hundred or so grams lighter than the crMo one, so in all I lost a little over a pound from the bike by swapping the cranks and the seat. The only heavy thing on the bike really is the training wheels, everything else is either lightweight, or mid-lightweight. It's weird because I went from only having a carbon fork, to now having a practically completely carbon fiber bike.

Probably in the winter of '09-'10. And probably not.
My boss has been offering his house to me for the past two years. It's in the boot, so it'll be warm year-round.

garysol1 01-29-09 07:07 AM

They are calling for 40 degrees here Sunday. I wonder just how sloppy and wet the roads will be....

John Wilke 01-29-09 10:38 AM

I rolled up to Minneapolis yesterday for the jumping tournament there.

* AWESOME *

Schedule is up for the midwest cycling series. Or at least some of it.
Boo that pay out for the 3's is the same as the 4/5.

1. Nice video. Looks like a great time.

2. Stevie Wonder is the awesomest.

3. That place is about 3 miles from my office (and they run a crit around there in June).

4. I can't believe their insurance company lets them do that thing where 3-4 of them went down at once.

45º on Saturday, and 52º on Tuesday. I don't care how nasty it is outside, I'm riding the Giant. I'm sick of babying her.

And I had a bad day today. 2 whole hours of sleep last night, mixed with a new lean 200 calorie diet, of which I only ate.... 1170 calories, and a crazy femme (who I can only suspect has some form of Hepatitis) all up on my behind.

nocondorfx 02-03-09 11:03 PM

probably gonna be gone over the weekend. But 52 on tues?

I think he should have pulled in his driveway, dropped the kickstand and popped a cold one right there out in the open.
