Heading out for Waukesha once these last 4GB are backed up. Day ?? of ToAD - whatever, it's the LAST day! Hearing thunder right now, so we will be getting wet for sure. Got the rain jacket and hurricane coat in car ready to go.

Downer Avenue last night was a BLAST, as always. Check out the video I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KQCnWeLj-w

Oh oh ... I hear it raining now, gotta close the car.

L8R !

Fly V Australia with Bernie Sulzberger, Johnny Cantwell, and Jay Thompson will return to Superweek this year.

Peloton-Pix is working on an agreement to shoot for Superweek as well. It's a pretty fair trade for both parties so PPix could very well be at all 17 stages this year (Oh the humanity!).

It's going to be another cycling packed July - drag butt out of bed, start recording Tour on TV, ride around the neighborhood in the early dawn hour, spend all day at races - repeat. WHEW!

Make sure you get lots of pics at my hometown race failure!

I may very well be racing Geneva on a borrowed bike, with 2-3 weeks without riding leading into the race. Yeehaw.

Not as far as I know?

My bike is still at the shop. I'm going to go steal it back, strip it down, and then put the stuff on a borrowed frame. I'm not going to bash the manufacturer of my bike on here by name, but they've recently re-organized and it sounds like an f'n joke. The dealer says it's clearly a warranty issue, and the distributor isn't returning calls. What a joke.

If his sleeve wasn't rolled up a bit, he would be a definite stoner.

Cat 4/5 are always looking at their feet.
Cat 3/s are always looking at the chicks.
Cat 2's are always looking at the camera "I look good don't I?"
Pro's are always looking back "anybody coming?"

Very true. I guess I should really be a cat 3.

Umm, I guess I am in Cat 6 then, as I am always looking for a cool pub that has good beer during the race. I check every corner!

It appears that Peloton-Pix and Superweek have come to an agreement. ToAD was a good warmup at 10 days, let's see how sane I am after 17!

Howz construction down on the Chicago area "Pay Way" ?

I know that north of the Cheeze Border it's horrible, but what about down in the big city? I may even just skip 94 north/south (east/west) here in Wisco. It's BAD.

Hmmm. Really, just Monday and Tuesday are going to be a bear. This first weekend won't be too bad, and starting with Lake Geneva and later it will be a breeze. I mean, Cudahy - South Milwaukee - Hales Corners - Bay View ... I could ride there, no problem. Will just have to tank up on gas, bring some food, and take a chill pill. Prob. plan on 3 hrs to reach south 'burbs. Beats driving to MSP or Hayward/Duluth which is twice that (been there!) I drove from Ft. Colins, CO to Milwaukee straight through once. Oi !

John,

For the Geneva race (at least) don't bother with the expressway. Get to Lake Geneva and take 120 South (use the bypass as it will be a Saturday). It turns in to Il 47. Taking that south will offer about 10 ways to cut over into the area. The Expressway is quicker when it's quicker... but not by a whole lot. And when the expressway is not absolutely butter, it's a lot slower.

For Richton Park and Homewood (possibly even Willow Springs) you might find it quicker to come down 53 and run into 355. 355 will run into 80 which is absolutely the easiest way to run into the Southern Suburbs. There was some construction on 355 last week, but it wasn't bad. And the section from 55 down to 80 is only about 3 years old and always moves well.

Yes, 355 south in the morning is butter. Everyone is usually heading north in the morning and traffic is typically very light.

Okay. Maybe Cheese curtain -> 94 east down to Lake Cook Rd -> west to 53, then south. Earlier this spring I found that it's tight down to the state line, then it rolls once into IL. Traffic is usually pretty good down to the Edens, then it gets nasty again.

Trip north at 9pm should be hammer time.

Good tip!

Not only that, there is really just about nothing on 355 from 55 down to 80. Even in rush hour, it's lightly traveled.

Pain cave. My legs still feel dead from the series. And I need to bend my elbows more.
