Yay - on to Milwaukee! Watching the Pro's for "Schlitz Challenge" then will do M, Tue, W races. Can't wait!! Lake Front (long) course rocks.

Anyone know what the field sizes have been for the lower categories? Wasn't sure if the result listing was representative of total field. Suprised to see very litte XXX representation for the IL portion.

I would probably add 10 - 15 riders to the final results to get the start number. The races have been hot and fast, but not total trash fests as some here would have you believe. To be sure, however, the front 20 riders in every category are riders who have driven many miles to race here, and they are taking no prisoners! Colorado, Wyoming, Florida ... sandbaggers galore!

I was just looking at the upcoming days of racing. Schlitz Park - OH! 90+ degrees today, gonna be a killer. Sunday is Evanston - Intense! This one wears me out just watching. Monday is Whitnal Park long course - ahhh, beautiful, quiet for spectating ... tough for racing! Tuesday - South Milwaukee. This is a new course using part of the old Grant Park route ... this is a AWESOME COURSE! You guys are going to love this one as it runs along the parkway looping around the old mill pond that always has ducks and geese, then on down to the lake front beach before going UP THE BIG HILL. Then Wednesday is Milwaukee Lake Front long course ... the old National Championships course. A CLASSIC. Right on the lake front, right on the beach. Everybody loves this one for good reason!

How big is big? Similiar to Lake Front Long course? Doesn't look like I'm going to get the chance to see the course prior to the race...

Thanks,

K

Yeah, the bluff all along the lake shore here is the same height - roughly 80 to 100 ft. The climb in South Milwaukee is a good 100ft because you dip slightly to cross the creek that empties the mill pond into Lake Mich, then the road rises and twists towards the crest by the golf course. Not real steep, just moderate and steady.

Here: https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie...,0.013797&z=16

Climbs left to right where it says E. Oak Creek Parkway , crest on Grant Park Dr.

That big city is too intense for me. Three *LOUD* PA's going at the same time all day. Can't move your elbow without bumping into somebody. Only had OJ and Fig Newtons to eat all day. The first time I ever took a nap on the lawn of a 25 story high bank building.

Now back at home where the moon is shining and the crickets are chirping. Had the kitchen windows open all day long while I was gone ... no worries.

It's good to be home!!!

Fly V took Evanston 1-2

Krishna,

I was on the Cervelo SLC-SL with 404's, had a Alp d'Heuz red jersey on. Nice course. I popped on the last climb and got swamped in the 4/5. Booo.

Was feeling better in the Masters 4/5 but got taken out by a crash on the last turn. Double boo.

John, thought I saw your 300mm there on the final climb right? Tried to say hi a couple times.

Yeah, that was me. Boy, this is really a daily grind but I got some sweet photos today. Yeah, great facilities, eh? (ohhhhh ... I had some horribly boring classes in that building for my old nursing job though). Cash burning a hole in someone's pocket?? Well, we can't have that! Figure 8 course Tuesday in South Milwaukee - it's going to be cool.

Honestly, I think the best one's have yet to be shown! I'll have the high rez available after the dust has settled. Was looking at today's course map ... instead of one long climb, it will be two *WALLS* and a zippy fast screamer downhill. FUN!

She'll never settle. That's why we like her so much.

Colorchange: lol - yes I talked to you at the Whitnall race. Was the guy parked next to you --> the last remaining racer to still riding a Croll

Figured there must have been a crash - some other guys I know were uncharacteristically far down in the standings.

Where were you for today's race (S. Milw) ? Was a nice course...

Raced the 4/5's also yesterday. Whitnall is always a good course for me. Seemed a little slow, but still fun. Managed 4th after sprinting from the back of the field. Fell too far back in the last corner when we were going 4 wide into it.... Need to hurry up and cash my check!

I'll be back out for Humboldt Park & Whitefish Bay. Feel free to say hello - black Felt w/ Easton wheels, blue kit.

Hey Krishna ... didn't know that was you. lol Yea, got caught up in the guy who dive-bombed the last turn and then he couldn't hold it. He shot right across the field and I had to jam the brakes and had to clip out to avoid falling. Was sitting about 4'th at the time with a pretty low hear rate. That's racing!

Not feeling very good so don't know if I'll do tomorrow or not. I'll see how a ride goes tonight.

Off the hook fun. Frunkin is leading out the 12 year olds in their race. Spectators are really into it, calling friends on their cell phones "You gotta see this!", I'm gathering up riders from Germany and South Africa to have their picture taken with Bucyrus VIPs (title sponsor - they make international mining equipment). Just off the hook.
