2016 Model Release?

2016 Model Release?
Hi all, I am looking to purchase my first bike this summer and I have narrowed it down to the Giant Escape 2 and the Cannondale Quick 5/4. From what I've gathered, new models are released during the summer and then the older models are usually discounted. Is there a certain month that makers release their new models? I am wondering if I should hold off for the new models to be released so that I can see if I should go with either the new model or score a deal on an older model. Any advice? Thanks and much appreciated.

I am looking for Giant Bike as well. Trying to decide between Escape 1 or Roam 2 (potentially 1). My LBS said to come back in July when they have 2016 bikes. I'm 6'4" and would need XL size....they didn't have anything in store in that size.

Manufacturers are different but I don't recall seeing many end of model discounts before September.
