New Felt hybrid

I just saw the new 2016 bike: Felt Versa Speed https://www.feltbicycles.com/USA/2015...w-Release.aspx

It looks pretty interesting with Ultegra components and a $1500 price.

Bikes: 2016 Giant Fastroad CoMax 2, 2002 Jamis Tangier, Classic Nakamichi 10 speed.

Lotsa money for an aluminum frame. The big boys have carbon frames at this price. Looks to me like this bike focuses more on shift gear and less on frame tech.

Personally, I would need to ride one. While this bike appears to have a step up in shift gear from my Giant Fastroad SLR 1, I am not sure I view this bike as much of a threat.

I think you're right but it does have a carbon fork and I've read repeatedly that a carbon fork is enough. I've also read that an aluminum frame is only marginally heavier. I'm not sure. This bike weighs 23 pounds and it sure would be nice to see it below 20. Can't wait to ride one. I did finally get to ride the Giant Fastroad several days ago but unfortunately it was the aluminum frame (Sport?) I liked it o.k.....maybe not as much as a Sirius I tried, but I think any of these nice hybrids would be a good choice once it's dialed in to individual preferences. Finally, I think the Giant has the best cosmetics I've seen but that's personal preference too.

We carry Felt at my shop. They're decent bikes, about as good as any of the other name brands;pretty much on par with the Cannondales we carry. That parts spec looks decent for the price. Can't comment on ride quality since I've only test ridden them around the warehouse. One of my co-workers has one of their disc cross bikes and likes it alot.
