Curious what others are running on the Sirrus bikes, and whether smaller or larger. Size wise, the stock size feels fine, so not sure whether going to a large in a Crank pedal is the right thing to do.

Ended up ordering Spank Spoons for mine and the RaceFace Rides for the wife's. She did not want metal pins, and I don't want her cutting up her legs.
She doesn't care if I cut mine up as long as I bleed out and she gets the insurance proceeds. Should get my |
New Sirrus 3.0
I switched over from a 2017 Crosstrail Sport to a 2020 Sirrus 3.0. The Sirrus is around 8 pounds less than the Crosstrail. I loved the Crosstrail and had around 2k miles on it. I changed my type of riding from off road limestone trails to paved SUP and the Crosstrail just seemed so heavy after crossing the 20 mile mark. I took the Sirrus out for it's 22 mile maiden voyage today and found it very comfortable. The 2x9 MicroSHIFT and Sora gearing is a little odd with some of the gears seeming like a much larger jump between a couple them than others. Maybe I just need to get used to the new setup. I think I'm going to enjoy it for years...

Last month I took a trip to Bentonville, AR to check out the cycling infrastructure I'd heard so much about from a friend. I spent about 4 hours riding around on the Slaughter Pen MTB trails on my Sirrus X. While I certainly wasn't geared quite properly with the 40T front ring, I had an absolute blast riding the green trails, and I went on a few blue trails also. I aired my Terra Speeds down to 30 psi, and they performed fantastic, with no flat issues. There is a lot of chunky rocks and gravel out there so I was super pleased with no issues.
I'd absolutely suggest anyone to go check out the area, and I'd recommend a mountain bike for more comfort, but the Sirrus can handle alot of the easier stuff. There is also a ton of paved areas to ride as well. It was very impressive to see how much has been invested in the area to make cycling safer, and draw people to the area. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e4ea464a1f.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...42f8d1ea97.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...43df65ffc8.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d4fc172201.jpg |

If you want to use a kickstand, purchase a steel or aluminum frame, or get something that has a dedicated kickstand mounting point. The carbon Sirrus X frames do not. |

Not an expert on kickstands by any means but I’m not sure there is anywhere to bolt one up. Maybe if there is one that can attach to the rear axel, but I’d be afraid to bolt anything to a carbon frame that puts stress on it in ways it wasn’t designed.
Another quick question. I have read a few reviews online where the users were complaining about cable hose’s being too long and rubbing the paint off on head tube. Do you see this issue on your bike? |

[QUOTE=Batstar;21656448]I have a couple of these and they work great for carbon bikes. They can be custom fit for your ride and side mount brackets are also available if you don't wish to carry the stand in your jersey pocket or backpack.
They look cool. Thank you for the post. I will check them out. |

I ordered a 12”x12” sheet of XPEL Steath film and then cut a piece to fit the spot were it rubs. Worked perfectly and you can barely see it. Now mind you I have the matte green bike, so if you get the navy, you need the glossy stuff. It was even cheaper. |

Lizard Skin sells small amounts of protective film, both matte and glossy, and price is right.
