Tire Size fitting wheel.

My Trek 7.5 came with Bontrager TLR 28" wheels that have 700x28 tires on them. I have a set of 700x47 tires I would like to install on these wheels. Can I? Thanks. B

There are two parts to that question:
1) any 700C AKA 622 mm bead seat diameter tire will mount to any 700C rim.
How well suited the combination is depends on the respective widths of the tire and the rim.
There are recommendation charts in several locations. Sheldon Brown, Schwalbe, Mavic...
2) how much clearance does your fork/frame have? The 47 will be nominally 19 mm taller and 9-10 mm wider.
Check this first.

But hey, you've got the parts.
All you stand to lose is some time.

The inside width of my rims on my Crosstrail is 18mm. It came OEM with 45mm tires on it!

Your rim should have a tag on it saying how wide the rim is.

+1 go right ahead. Have spare tubes handy.... But what you will learn in process is priceless, much more worthy that any advice we can give you.
