Modding into Hybrid

Hello,

I like C&V. And also like Hybrid styles. I see that Cannondale didn't make Hybrids in the later years.

How can mod this Black Lightning into a Hybrid? What makes a bike Hybrid? Sorry new to this. Still going thru the forums for information.

Seller made a sweet deal on this. He claims to be 87. But not sure. I'm planning to pick up this weekend

Thanks members!!!

The images don't come through but, based on some quick internet searching, the Cannondale Black Lighting was a full-on road bike. You could turn this into a so-called "flat bar road bike" with a flat or riser bar and brake levers and shifters that'll work with your current brakes and drivetrain. The definition of a "hybrid" is so broad, and so variable over time, that it's not particularly relevant to try to define it. Back in the day of your Black Lightning, a "hybrid" was usually a bike with a mountain bike style frame and handlebar, but with 700c road wheels (back when mountain bikes had 26" wheels). There is a niche of "hybrid" bikes today often called "flat bar road bikes", and you can do an older version of a current theme with this bike.
