This is her when she was brand new. Next month she will turn 1 year old.
Giant Escape 2 Hybrid, but now with a few custom parts.
Kool stop MTB brakes on the rear.
MKS Lambda platform pedals. (My LBS discovered that I had cracked the originals in half, but luckily the rubber held until I replaced them.)
NYC commuting killed 5 tubes in maybe 7 months? So....
Michelin City ProTek rear tire.
Vittoria Raddoneur double shielded kevlar front tire.
....and no flats since.

5 tubes in 7 months? Damn! ^^
I've yet to have my first flat in over 2,5 years.
Are you sure you have quality kevlar layered tires and quality inner tubes?

BridgeNotTunnel, How do you like the Escape 2? I picked up the '12 Escape 1 a month ago and love it. Thinking of changing the tires to something a little more aggressive, like 700x25 or 28.

My 2012 Giant Escape 1. So far a kickstand and the RadBot 1000 tail-light are the only additions.

Hmmmm where have I seen that before...? Commuting forum?
But anyway, beautiful bike you got there! Love the contrast of the leather (or is it shellac?) bar tape and the purple frame.

That Diamondback 3 is a great bike. I have the 2. 2011 is the last decent year for the 3. I just checked Diamondbacks web page and they've really cut costs and put less expensive components on the insight. The 1 even dropped the aero bladed front fork. These are great bikes, but while you can find a 1 at Dick's Sporting goods, you just can't find the 2 or 3 at many places to test ride. Good luck with it. It's a great looking bike.
Did you get that at a LBS or via Online?

Turned on by all these Giants in here. Lol. This FCR is where I got my start back into cycling about 5 years ago. Of course, it was a flat bar hybrid with stock tires/wheels, pedals and gearing.
This is what it looks like now. It is more of a commuter/Tourist but is still a hybrid and will never make the FULL roadie conversion probably.

I was waiting for someone to compliment your beautiful looking bike and then I would agree with them. But nobody has commented, so I will. Read the 9th, 10th and 11th words in the first sentence of this post. There's your compliment.

Thanks guys! I've been out of the bike game for awhile now but am definitely glad I'm getting back into it.
I did quite a bit of research during the past few weeks as of what bike to get. Made the right choice in my opinion.
This forum community helped me a lot. As I'd search around using google, many threads from this community would come up with discussions about things I was interested in learning about. I decided to sign up.
Exactly!

Weather was nice yesterday but I was super tired from soccer the night before. Sun is out today so will try and get my wife to go out with me and do a quick 10kms.
BTW: Bike looks a little different now. Raised the seat 5mm and swapped a 10mm spacer above the stem so it is a little more aggressive. I needed to do this to shift some of my weight onto the bars because my bum was hurting way too much. That 15mm change made a huge difference.
