Just picked up this Schwinn Tourist. Not stock, handlebar/shifter combo is very weird. hard to ride on the tops. I plan on adding 105 brfiters, might have to use travel agents for brakes to work.

Here's my ride, a Kona Dew Drop: road-bike bars and brifters, hybrid frame, touring type wheels and tires, MTB rear mechanicals. It doesn't get much more "hybridized" than that.

elad 63 ~ I bought a schwinn hybrid and swapped in drop bars but kept those rapid fire shift/brake combo levers. I played around with where to mount them and settled on using them in the drops so I can ride/brake/shift in a fairly conventional (road) position. you might like to try the position before replacing the hardware

Thx, I already swapping the bars for flats with stubby bar-eds. I just could not get comfortable with the other set-up.

Here is my not-so-hybrid hybrid. Yes, the mobile pic is horrible and yes, there aren't too many hybrid elements in there anymore, but I like it.

Well it has an MTB frame and Road bits so I think it's a hybrid. The black and white image is cool. So is it a hybrid MTB or hybrid Road bike? ; )

Bike with new pedals. They weren't so expensive and I thought they matched my "theme". My guess is they'll rip my shins quite nicely.

They look like bear traps! Awesome pedals, man. I really wanted to try out that Tioga saddle, but I'm over the weight limit on it.

The Daily Grind, this afternoon on my commute home, in front of Bubba's Place.

(amazing what Bubba can do with re-bar and horseshoes, ain't it?)

Well I finally got around to ordering my tires. Just so I wasn't a copy cat I got the blue ones. I think they will look good too. Pics to come.

Here is mine in current form. (Seat is maladjusted so a friend could ride it)
2006 Giant FCR3 turned Drop-Bar. Like others above, it is not SOO much a hybrid anymore but it does have a nice gear range and it works great as a touring/commuter bike.

Spent the day playing with racks... the cold unfeeling kind.

Moved the Blackburn to my expedition bike to go with all the other Blackburn bits I have collected and took the old Axiom set and installed them on the Trekker... she rides a little nice unladen than the Cascade and think that front tandem wheel will now get to earn it's keep.

Going to go out for an icy 100 on Friday methinks...

Dh - rebar and horseshoes are only second in utility to duct tape.

Looks like it will make an excellent touring bike.

Have been out test riding the Trek with the new front bags... it seems to have been made for this and the front fork was already drilled and tapped for mounts which was nice.

Some bikes don't take to front loading very well and this has to do with the front end geometry but when you can do it you can really distribute your load and have a very nicely balanced bike.

Will just have to throw a new 11-34 cassette in the rear as when I do load her up for more extreme tests I am sure I will want a gear that is as low as possible and a 26/34 should do that.
