I have a Navigator 300, 06 model I believe. If memory serves me correct in 07 they changed the name to 3.0. (I looked at the different years on BikeMedia last Friday)
Mine does not have rubber boots on the front suspension so that one may be older.
Mine listed for something like $479 new and I plan to list it for $250, if that helps.

2005 Navigator:

Love it. Like stated earlier, that one might be a different year than 2006 because of the boots. Hard to see in this pic but mine is sans boots. If it's older, might be able to talk him down some.

Hey guys, i need to mention something about the bike in my OP,i drove 320 some miles round trip this morning to pick it up, the bike is all blue in color, just like the ad described however, all those Navigators i saw in Bikepedia are 2 tones colors, none are solid color ( i may be wrong ),from 1999 to 2006. that's not all, the seat tube has a decal says " Trek alpha custom aluminum","custom grade aluminim",the logo on the front of the bike....i can't even tell what it says,it doesn't look like any Trek logo at all, also, there is a plastic shimano gear indicator mounted on the center on the handle bar with 2 thin cables connect to the shifters, the bike rides good and shifts right...just curious about the year and info on this bike, btw, it doesn't have a white tag with serial numbers on the bottom of the crank, instead it has a set of number/letter stamped on the metal,i will post some pics here later.
About 3 hrs later.

this one really have me puzzling

so is this one

this one is really unheard of,to me at least

last words,,,do i have a POS or some rare model or whatever? Pls, i need help.

Pretty much a basic navigator 300. Looks like it's in good shape, so you did ok.
To explain a bit further into why it looks different than the others is that it could be a mid year change or they simply redid the appearance with a separate batch.
2001 was the only year the Navigator 300 was spec'd with an nsync fork 2000 was a trek brand fork, 1999 was a rigid. 2003 and up all have rst forks on them.
The headtube badge on it was used for a few years before they went to the round headtube badge, which was replaced by the current headtube badge.
The shimano set up on it is an older group that was made specifically for comfort/hybrids.

Folks, i done been HAD.....looked at the Trek website under history, the emblem on the head tube indicates it's made between 1997-2002, which means i was decieved by the seller or he was decieved by the previous owner,i paid $250 for the bike, it rides good and shifts smooth and all.no major damage or any dents, just minor scratches in few spots, should i ask the seller for a partial refund or live with it?

It's a bit high given the circumstances, but for the condition of the bike being good, and everything is working well, it's not a terrible ripoff.
I'm certain that it's a 2001 model. Good possibility you got an European model.

In my estimation, buying it back isn't good enough, at this stage -- you already have considerable expense just retrieving it. And, would add at least that much more, returning it ---- sooooooo, if he is willing to buy it back, he should be willing to refund that much expense, and you keep the bike.
That would help to make you whole.
If you want to keep it, go ahead - but at least give him negative feedback for misrepresentation......
