Funky hybrid on swedish CL. I never heard about that "brand" before.

Did this thread get archived? I couldn't find it in the hybrid forum, I had to use the search function to find it. Anyway...

Excess steerer tube from my new roadie. I left just enough space for there to be a 5mm spacer above the stem. My 2mm spacer also fit, but apparently the rules say you "have to" have a 5mm spacer above the stem. Whatever, I had an extra 5mm carbon spacer laying around so I put it up there.

Great to see this thread back.
Lordy lordy, that site is a laugh.
My road bike almost fits the rules. I have to ditch my frame mounted pump.

EDIT... are you sure a carbon spacer is ok? I thought an alloy KCNC spacer was the go. ;)

Do you think I'm made of money? The carbon spacers were expensive enough.

I was volunteering at the local co-op and my teacher came in for me to do a little bit of work on his bike. He snapped a picture of me working on my bike. Here you go.

Actually that's a great pic...lots of colour. I want to experience a bike CO-OP. What happens there and is it in a bike shop?

It isn't in a bike shop, it is a bike shop. They have 3 redundant sets of tools, for people to come in and fix their bikes with. They also give away bikes to the homeless, but they have to work on them themselves. It's a great place and I love working there.

The way they work is that you can go in and if you know everything, get to work and use the tools they have. You pay for the amount of time that you're there (plus any parts you buy). They can also guide people through repairs, and they offer classes.

Here's a good video about the three big co-ops that we have here in LA: http://www.streetsblog.org/2008/11/1...n-los-angeles/

I just rode out to the main highway late and took my good camera to play with settings that I never get to play with, at least two came out clear

At the co-op that I volunteer at, people only have to pay for parts, not time.

jbchybridrider 05-10-12 10:21 AM

I saw this on the Easyauctionjapan web site, thought it was pretty cool.

Either way, it sounds like a lovely system.

We have so many of those bikes around here but sadly that brand Calle, is a little dodgy. Have a look at this pearler..ie. second picture Italian Shimano.

What the heck kind of flamethrower do you have mounted on the front of that ride? Golly, it looks painful to stand in front of. Probably improve my tan, though.

Yep for the price it's a steal from memory around $60, it's a Cree 2400Lm XML-T6 from flebay but now there's a 3800Lm for only $72. Off course if you look into it it's useless because you'll be blind

Yep we have roo's on our property and with my old CatEye I could never see them till almost hitting them. You know how they are they run towards light like mozzie's to a flame.

SuperDave 05-13-12 12:34 PM

That Cree just found a place on my rebuild parts list.

In keeping with the purpose of the thread, my beloved Jamis Coda Comp - since adjusted for a racier riding position - and a couple of the parts it will be soon sporting:

Yep, I know. My uncle out at Warwick (Queensland) has to use some "roo ray" doobalackie on the front of his car to keep them away.

Warning !! Upgrading becomes addictive, but so much fun :)

It's only going to be once; I've about worn the thing out after 8 years and 15k+ miles, so the frame stays and everything else gets replaced with stuff I intend to last longer than the originals did. "Upgrade" won't be possible when I'm done - I'm shooting for the strongest-possible parts. There may be lighter stuff on the market - although the crankset is <700g including the BB, the wheels aren't exactly feathery - but I'm setting it all at the point where more money will only get less weight, not more reliability. That's why it's taking so darn long to pay for it all. :)
