I was going to say that I think around DC and Baltimore the cops ride cannondales but it looks like qmsdc15 beat me too it and provided evidence

Love this shot. Great timing qmsdc15, every cop in this photo seems to be occupied with something - it almost seems like they're posing for you :D.

Note the many plastic handcuffs on one handlebar. These guys were prepared for something. Waiting at a Starbucks a few blocks from Capitol Hill. They don't gather like this unless they think something might be going down.

Am i spotting one of them inside the coffeeshop? Donuts, no doubt!

Are they zipties? Maybe the Cannondales have a few maintenance problems and he is the chief mechanic. Zipties + 1000 mile-an-hour tape = repair anything.

The bikes are OK ... but absolutely no one has stated the obvious ... and no, it's not donut shops per se.

Okay, I can't stand it any more. What's the obvious that we are all missing?

I saw our local police bike (tiny town in Illinois) in a 4th of July parade and it looked like a Trek, too. I've never seen it in the wild though.
