Bikes: Specialized Roubaix Elite SL2 Apex Compact & Felt Speed 50 Performance Hybrid

Hybrid Upgrade Advice (participation appreciated)

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am currently riding a Felt Speed 50 (see link below) and would like to upgrade to something with better parts. I am currently riding on a paved bicycle path through the woods which includes some climbing, but it is very minimal. I am riding about 20-30 miles per day for fitness.

Two things that I love about my Felt are the geometry and width of the tires. It is pretty fast for a hybrid bicycle and I would like something that is comparable in terms of tire width. Basically, I would like what the powers that be call a "performance hybrid." My budget is $1,000.00, but could spend a little more if need be.

I thought about buying a road bike, but after riding a few, I can confidently say that it is off the table.

I cannot lie. Looks also matter to me.
The bicycles that I am considering are as follows:

Orbea Aqua Flat Bar T23

Bianchi Camaleonte Quattro

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

The Orbea looks like a lot of bike for $799!

I thought your Felt looked very nice and possibly a good base for upgrading.
The Orbea looks like a road bike with a flat bar fitted it also looks fast even standing still. I dont see very wide tires fitting this bike though.
I like the Bainchi, looks more "traditional" hybrid.
If you want something new and different then fair enough but you can upgrade the bike you have and just to throw another spanner in the works if you wanted a road bike with wider tires you could think cyclocross and fit a flat bar to that.

Thank you for the feedback. I agree the felt is a very nice bike and does seem like a good foundation. I guess I am never satisfied. The grass is always greener on the other side. With regard to tire width, I actually like the tires as thin as possible. One of the reasons I chose the Felt over a comparable Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc. hybrids is because it had thinner tires and I really like that.
