I was bike shopping today and a LBS has a 2010 Marin Fairfax with drop bars, road cassette and sti 2300 shifters. All in price is $780 including upgraded tires. Is this a great deal. I am looking to a change from my diamondback insight 1 to a quasi road bike. Others I look at today were a 2011 khs cx100 at $750, kHs flite 300 for $770.

Any opinions out there?

It is an OK deal, but I wouldn't go as far as saying great. For $800, you could find a far better bike used on craigslist, or perhaps discounted at the LBS. It's not a bad price but it could be beat.
