Trek 800 Frame help
Hi everyone,
I am trying to build a single speed Hybrid bike from a stripped down Trek 800 Sport Frame.
1. Can I use wheels which are larger than 26" with the small frame?
2. Does anyone have any suggestions for a new lightweight crank and handlebar stem that will be compatible with this frame?
Components
Chain 1/2 x 3/32"
Handlebar Stem Hi tensile steel, rise
Headset 1 1/8" sealed mechanism
Crankset Sun Race FC-M35, 28/38/48 teeth
Wheels
Hubs Aluminum, Q/R
Rims Matrix 550
Tires 26 x 1.95" Bontrager Connection
Spoke Brand Stainless steel, 14ga. (2.0mm) straight gauge

There was a company that was making a kit to allow putting 700c wheels on a 26" MTB frame. I searched and couldn't find it. Basically it would involve relocating your brakes as well as a new fork. It *can* be done...

Do you have any suggestions for a crank that will keep the chain tight.
