Looks like a great idea for the hybrid..I hate the helmet mount mirrors and use a Zephal on my road bike but this may be a better option

Bikes: too many

perfect for clipping things :-/

I've tried other bar end mirrors before, and found the field of view too narrow, and the vibrations from the road made the mirror nearly unusable.

There isn't a barend mirror on the market that's compatible with Ergon GP5's or GC3's. (sigh)

Not true! See attached pic. I actually like these Third Eye mirrors better than any other I've used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o03_s00_i00
It's a real glass mirror, mounts easily, large enough to see what's behind, and folds in if needed.

how did you get that past the solid end clamp on the Ergon grips?

anyways, one of my riding positions with my ergons is with my hands right over where that mirror is attached, like holding the ends of the bar, with my thumb hooked around the base of the bar end.

The mirror attaches with a screw. The bar ends have a hole in the end that is large enough for the screw to go through.

huh. my Ergon GP3's have no such hole, just the offset 'slot' that comprises the bar end clamp.
