Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So to paraphrase...

You want a mirror, but none of the three styles that are prevalent.

You will probably have to compromise.

I use the Italian Road Bike Mirror.

I don't use one, but I had a bar end mirror at one time and it worked well enough. After a while you'll be able to turn your head or look under your arm without losing your line.

I have a helmet mirror and I don't get the negative image. I have see what is behind me and my head hurts to turn all around. I find a helmet mirror to be more important than wheelsets, CF, component levels, and hydration. Not everyone agrees. Get a helmet mirror.

My buddy uses this on some of our rides, if I was to consider a mirror, this would be the one I would buy.

Any mirror is good as long as it is the same finish as your kickstand.

I wouldn't put a mirror in the same league as a kick stand. I use a mirror on my sun glasses and it gets used when I need to cross three lanes of traffic to get to the left turn lane.

Great mirror. It's unobtrusive and doesn't move when you hit potholes.

Mounts on my sunglasses, quick scan gives me the road behind, small surface doesn't effect the road ahead. Essential accessory.
