I'm new to this forum and the hybrid biking world. I have been looking at the Trek 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5 and trying to determine the right bike for me. I tend to go on 20 to 30 mile rides after work primarily on paved surfaces or crushed lime stone. I'm 45 years old and at 6'4" and 220lbs...I need a bike that can handle a little weight. If I had to pick the bike for me I'd say it was the 7.4 but I've been told the 7.4's don't come in a 25" inch frame which I believe I need. First of all, is it true that Trek doesn't make the 7.4 in the 25"? Second, any recommendations about which of these bikes would give me the best ride? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like the 7.4 stops at 22.5" frame. Try out the bike sizes just to be sure of your most comfortable fit though.

You may know this, but don't judge the bike simply by stand-over. I feel more comfortable on bigger bikes. Some people like them smaller. I am 5' 11" and have the 22.5" 7.2FX.

I guess my main follow up question for anybody is....considering they don't have the Trek 7.4 FX in my size (25")....is the step up from a 7.3 FX to to the 7.5 FX worth it? Cost goes from $689 to $999. Again.....any comments are appreciated!

Have you done a comparison of both bikes side by side as far as stats to see which fit you better as far as components and what not? That could help you weigh down the need versus want and whether the price is worth it for your needs. I personally think that what may be best for me may not work well at all for you. The extra money is going into the nicer perks, if you feel they're worth it and the bike is in your size go for it.
