Trek 7100?
One of these just fell in my lap as it were... it seems like a decent bike, however I do not like gripshifters and am not a huge of low numbered SRAM drivetrain components. Are these bikes any good for hybrid riders etc? I'm debating keeping it as a bad weather rider...

My wife has one. It's a decent bike. The Sram hardware serves it well. Granted, her bike probably doesn't have more than a hundred miles on it, so my remarks aren't gospel. But I'm impressed with it in terms of overall package.

I have put lots of miles on my trek 7000 and no problems. this is a simple, efficient bike that is plain and tough. unless you need speed or high performance, this bike is a good fit for casual riders, which is to say, most riders.
