Cannondale Quick 4 - let's talk fenders
Quick 4 women's XS frame. 26x1.25 tires. (the XS model has 26x1.25 tires)
Live in MI, we get all kinds of weather. Want to ride mostly on paved or pretty smooth dirt trails in 3.5 seasons. Not in the Polar Vortex. I have an old mountain bike - a Raleigh M20 - for the rugged dirt trails.
I want fenders for my Quick 4.
Looking at Planet Bike Cascadia (newest version w. quick release)
ATB at 60mm or Hybrid at 45 mm?
If it matters, I have an Axiom Journey 2429 silver rack - adjustable for 24-29 wheels - which I'd like to install on this Quick 4 to make it
a nice all around bike for me.
if you want to talk SKS fenders, that's cool too. I am leaning towards Cascadia now but I can be persuaded.
No temporary clip on fenders (by anyone). Not enough coverage.
Thanks

Well, I can't speak to fenders except to say, I'd put on as "unnoticeable" a fender as possible! The Quick 4 is just too pretty otherwise.
Seriously, tho, I'd probably go w/ whatever looks best to your eye. (assuming any fender will do the job you want it to). I just happen to have a Quick 4 as well. (Regular, men's, XL frame) I just love the bike exactly the way it is. It is/was the only bike I didn't want to change a single thing on.

The Hybrid fenders are for 700c wheels,so they may not fit right. The ATB's are for 26",but will be really wide(possibly too wide to fit the frame/fork as well).
Bianchi sells the fenders they put on their Milanos;I used them on a bike once because I was running 1.5" tires and didn't want the fenders hanging way out beyond the tires. Front was a touch short, but I added a mudflap. Construct was nice and I didn't have any problems with them.
Best bet would prolly be to go to some local shops and see what they have and how well they'd fit.

thanks for the thoughts, dynaryder. They pretty much reflect my own, which is why I posted here. My LBS has a very sparse (like nil) assortment of these kinds of "permanent" fenders. They are more into the clip on style.
I decided to get the PB Cascadias for Hybrids (not the ATBs) and use them on my late 1980s mixte. It has 27" wheels and 1.25" tires (31.75 mm) so the Hybrid fenders with a width of 45 mm should work well - with plenty of clearance for fenders on both tires. One of a number of planned mods. Then I'll have a drop bar bike w. fenders, a rear carrier and panniers which is more practical for my uses.
The Quick4 will remain the pretty streamlined cutie that she is. I do have an SKS clip on for the rear fender and I'll make do w. that.
