Problem with toddler trailer

Hi everyone,

I just purchased my first bike (2013 Cannondale Quick 4) in 20+ years and I owe a lot to this forum. You guys really helped me narrow down my choices and get a good deal on this bike.

On to my question...

Has anyone here attached an instep toddler trailer to their bikes? I attached one yesterday and I noticed that it throws my brake alignment off. With the trailer hitch installed, one side of my brakes rubs at all times and the other side barely touches. Anyone have a fix for this?

How to attach the InStep bike trailer - YouTube

If the hitch is the one in the video above my guess is that the torque from the preloaded spring might be causing the misalignment. you could replace hit with this one from amazon and should solve the issue. The attachment point is at a 45 degree angle rather than a 90 to the chainstay so the spring is not preloaded.

Thanks for the links. I took my bike to a LBS and they made some adjustments to the brakes. Seems like the previous owner had them hooked up wrong.
