Have you tried a shorter stem? I have decided that the bike I will be riding next year is a touring bike, because the riding position when I am on the hoods is about the same as when I am riding my hybrid... which is where I will ride 95% of the time, but I will be able to get a little more aerodynamic by riding in the drops when I want to.

But then again, I may find that my hybrid fits better for my type of riding after a while...

Nobody can define a hybrid................... because it can be many things.

A regular bicycle, with components of road bikes to make it more road worthy............. or a regular bicycle with components of mountain bikes, to make it more trail worthy. Or, a mixture of both.

Components can be fat tires, skinny tires, or in between tires. Road derailleurs or mountain derailleurs, to accommodate any combinations of various cassettes. High tooth gears on the front to accommodate more road use, or low tooth counts to make it more trail worthy. Big tooth cassettes, or little tooth cassettes to make either what you want. Suspended forks or unsuspended forks, just like in the old days(just newer technology).

Taking your choices of components, to make it the perfect do it all bike - just for you.

A fancy regular bike!
